I love the style of the Jefferson Jacket so much, that I've bought one in every color Coffee (dark brown), Canyon Brown (light brown), Moss, Navy, Charcoal, Realtree, and Navy. I also own the previous version of the jacket called the Woodward Jacket in Black. The Quick Duck material is highly water repellent. And the jacket keeps me warm in a T-shirt down to about 28f degrees. Below that, I generally need a Fleece underneath. The jacket also dries very quickly. In my opinion the Moss color is the best. It very much reminds me of my old Woodland Field Jacket that I had in the Marine Corps minus the hood in the collar, but more water resistant.A few years back, I was standing in downtown Seattle in a snow/rainstorm for nearly an hour and didn't get wet.I also like wearing my military field jacket liner underneath the Jacket when the temperature dips below about 28f.My advice is to not wash the Jacket as much as possible and only spot clean it. My moss jacket looked very faded after I washed it (it was somewhat disturbing to me).I've worn these jackets (with the exception of Realtree Camo) in an professional office settings and received compliments on the jackets.I wear a XXL and I'm 5'11" and 255—270lbs with a 50" chest and 42" waist. This is THE coat for tall-big guys! I'm 6-4, 250 and wear a 36 in sleeve dress shirt, so I have a hard time finding good fitting clothes. I ordered this Carhartt coat for a last minute trip and I'm glad I did. I usually have to wear a XXL-tall coat in motorcycle jackets but this XL-T size gives me room to layer a sweatshirt, if needed.I especially appreciate the huge front zipper pockets that have a fleece front lining and two inner pockets, one zippered, for my wallet and phone. Other nice features are the longer in back tail coat for sitting on cold benches, and the generous sized stand-up collar to keep the wind out. This coat has knitted cuffs and the outer sleeve extends over the cuffs to keep them dry. Fantastic quality and design! The rain repellent works great, the coat did not get soaked in a medium downpour. The coat kept me warm on a 32 degree, February morning at the Grand Canyon with a howling wind.I have attached a photo, to show the generous sizing of this coat and the color which seems to exactly match the ubiquitous "UPS" brown. My husband is a little over 6 ft tall and weighs around 190 lbs - so width wise, he does well in a Large. However, because everything tends to be short on him (length wise, in the arms and torso), he often ends up in XL to compensate, and it's usually bulky on him. Normally this isn't a real issue but because I knew he'd be working in this jacket (using the chain saw, chopping wood, etc.), I really wanted to limit the unnecessary bulk. So, I purchased this jacket for him in Large-Tall. I'm so pleased with the way this tall size fits him. His belly doesn't stick out when he's working and it doesn't look like he's wearing a jacket that's a size too small for him! He is able to move freely and comfortably while working in this jacket. In addition to its utility, it's also a sharp looking jacket that he can wear in any casual setting. I highly recommend this jacket.I was looking for a nice jacket for my husband to wear for occasions when he wasn't working. He's an avid Carhartt user, all of his work pieces are Carhartt so I knew I couldn't go wrong. I ordered a Tall Large to accommodate his longer arms, I was debating between a XL and the Large Tall, glad I went with the Large Tall. He thinks the shoulders are a tad tight, but it's only going to take some time to break it in. I think if I ordered the XL it would have been too wide, the Tall Large looks really sharp on him. Great product! He's about 5' 9" and 180lbs.Best Carhartt I've owned. The length on the tall size fits just right and im 6'2". Would be careful if you are any taller, length might not be enough and bottom of jacket will sit above your waist. Also this coat has the least amount of bulk which is great for comfort while driving. Even though this is one of Carhartt's thinest coats, it's still just as warm or evener warmer than other winter coats they carry. The pockets are perfect with lots of room, while the front have an added zipper. Also the waist has an adjustable elastic strap so wind will not get inside. Lastly the coat has a more professional look which i really like.Pros: Well made, comfortable, stylish and I like the wrist cuffs. Cons: The zip up collar opening is too large and lets the wind in. I think it should be warmer for the price. An extra layer underneath and a scarf improves things a lot. I wear it for commuting to work and running errands. For extended outdoor wear, I prefer something warmer. I'm 5'11/195 with 35" sleeve and the Large/Tall fits me very well.Just received this a week ago. Temperatures have been from the mid forties to mid teens within the last week. I had contacted Carhartt about the warmth since I had ready reviews that it might be for just 30 and above, but this is definitely to warm for 40+ for me. I have been fine so far with it in the teens. Quality and construction look good the only thing I am concerned with is the arms dragging across the zipper on the pockets and that it might wear sooner under the arms faster than the rest of the jacket, the zippers are good just maybe the way I move around in the jacket. Very happy so far.I haven't yet tried this coat in the field but I will in the next couple weeks and I will update my review based on my experience,11/3/15-After a couple of weeks wearing this coat out in the mountains during hunting season. I'm very happy with this coat. I was a very good wind breaker, it repealed the rain wonderfully, and kept me incredibly warm. The only thing I wish it had is more pockets, more convenient pockets.other than that the coat was exactly what I needed and wanted.
